How a maintenance crew from Aurora became one of the Denver metro's most-referred concrete and landscaping contractors.
LD Landscaping and Concrete started with basic maintenance work. Mowing, trimming, cleanups. Simple jobs, but with one rule we never bent: the customer had to be happy when we left.

That rule turned into a business. Homeowners started asking if we could do more a patio, a wall, a new lawn. We said yes, learned the trade properly, and kept the same standard as the work got bigger. Today we pour driveways and stamped patios, install turf and sod, build retaining walls and cedar fence, and handle demolition across the Denver metro.

José Luis Ortega still owns the company and still runs it hands-on. He writes the estimates, he supervises the crews, and he inspects the finished work before anyone calls it done. That's not a marketing line it's the reason the phone keeps ringing.

Nearly two decades in, the majority of our work still comes from referrals. A neighbor sees a patio. A family member passes along a number. That's the business we set out to build.

José founded LD Landscaping and Concrete and has led every project since. He handles estimating personally, supervises the crews on site, and personally inspects each finished job. If you have a question about your project, you're talking to him not a call center.

Why We Started?
The recession that followed 9/11 changed a lot of things in Colorado. Work dried up. Plans got put on hold. For José, it became the reason to stop waiting on someone else's payroll and build something of his own.

What started as a way to keep working became a company with a standard behind it. That standard hasn't moved since: do the work right, use good material, treat the customer like a neighbor because in the Denver metro, they usually are.
